Rives et
dérives— Pierre Thiebaut

Approach
The art of the ephemeral
Rives et dérives is a series of ephemeral installations, photographed without retouching. Sea, étangs, marshes, rivers — along the shores of Sète and beyond, water becomes at once medium, mirror and accomplice in Pierre Thiebaut's land art.
Each work is made to vanish. The photograph is its only trace, taken as close to the moment as possible. Reflections, light and the rhythm of the hours are part of the work.

“Water offers us a creative latitude endlessly transformed by the rhythm of the hours and the seasons.”
